Day 8 – Alice Springs (Monday 7th)

Arrived at Alice Springs SAFELY after Adam decided to take a 250km short cut on an unsealed off road detour. OMG started off exciting for first 2 minutes then become a little scary. Road was safe but it was very corrugated could only do around 50-60km/h. The entire car and van was jumping around. The scenery was amazing the road very wide and very RED sandy dirt, had it have been wet season there would have been some river crossings (Adam wouldn’t have coped with that kind of pressure). We were celebrating at the end of the 100km when we meet with the Stuart Hwy. We have arrived at Alice Springs with a red car and van it was an experience that we can look back on and laugh about. The park is a really nice Big 4 we haven’t seen Alice yet as while Adam was cleaning van, kids where playing on jumping pillow and checking out pool. Will do some adventuring around the place tomorrow….. Hope everyone is well.

  1. Hi Pen, Adam, Max, Holly and Sam,
Your mum came by for a visit yesterday, and told me about your blog. Great reading about your trip. I know your are going to share so many memorable moments over the next 4 months. Uluru, Kings Canyon and the Olga’s are all stunning. I remember doing this trip with Matt, 15 years ago (before Bryce),
I think the kids will learn more, in the great outdoors than the classroom.
    Enjoy, Enjoy!!!
    Look forward to reading more.

    Cousin Jo and team
