Day 80 – Byron Bay (Wednesday)

Adam woke us all early this morning and we all went for a run. Me and Sam walked. It was a magical morning on the beach. Our caravan park is on a dog friendly beach and it is so great, it’s a pet friendly ‘exercise’ beach so all the dogs are off leads and look so happy and free. We have seen so many different types of breeds and we all have a different opinion of what dog would work in our family.

We spent the day on the beach with our neighbors Emma, Dave, Elly and Hayden it was so great catching up with them and hearing about what they have been up too on their trip.

It has been a really relaxing day in beautiful Byron Bay.

Day 78 – 79 Byron Bay (Mon-Tues)

The last two days we have spent at Byron Bay. It is a beautiful place. We are very happy with our caravan park being right in the heart of Byron and backs onto the beach (another amazing surf beach) it is super clean which is always good. We haven’t spent a lot of time at the beach because it has been very windy, we are hoping that tomorrow will be a good beach day.

Yesterday we had lunch at the Beach Hotel it was yummy. We did some shopping looking at some unique little shops.

Today we woke up early and went for a walk along the beach to the other side of Byron. I had an Iced Coffee and Adam and Holly had an Iced Chocolate at the Byron Beach Cafe. The Iced coffee was so yummy but the Iced chocolate wasn’t flash. Adam and Holly said that they must have used Iced Magic instead of topping as it tasted just like milk and the chocolate was too frozen to suck up the straw which was disappointing. It was such a relaxing atmosphere with bean bags to sit on. We took a drive up to the lighthouse but it was so busy we couldn’t get a car park so we are heading back up there tomorrow. Views were amazing. We did some more shopping in the afternoon. We tried flying Max’s kite in the big winds but pretty unsuccessfully.
Enjoying a relaxing movie night tonight.
Hopefully kids will catch some waves on the surfboard tomorrow.

Day 77 – Gold Coast – Dreamworld

Today we went to Dreamworld.

We all had a laugh on the Rapid Ride. Can’t believe this ride is still going and it’s still a favorite. Sam was allowed to ride this one and the log ride and he was squealing with excitement .

A lot of the rides at Dreamworld spin a whole lot more than at the other parks. We all prefer the scary roller coasters to the rides that spin and make you feel sick, so we didn’t go on all of them today.

We watched the Tiger show, beautiful animals. And then Sam, Holly and I went to the Madagascar Dance party show. Sam’s loves the kiddies shows, you tend to forget his so much younger than his big brother and sister. There where many more rides at Dreamworld for him with Wiggle’s World, Shriek and Madagascar it cater for the younger ones.

The wildlife area was a little disappointing but that could be because we have been so spoilt seeing Australia Zoo and wildlife in the N.T that it is hard to compare.

We ended the day with a 3D movie which was How to train a dragon short flick (perfect) Sam loved it of course and wanted more.

Last day with Lisa, Simon, kids, nana and Pa. Thanks for visiting guys we are going to miss you and see you shortly. We’ve had a great time.

Off to NSW tomorrow. Hope the sun is shining there and that they have got rid of those sharks so we can catch some waves and definitely time to relax after all those theme parks !!!!

Day 76 – Gold Coast – Surfers Paradise ( Saturday)

Today was a good start for all of us especially for Sam, if anyone’s wondering why, it is Sam’s fourth birthday πŸ‘.

Today we started by going to Surfers Paradise to look around and walked Cavill Ave. Max saw a sigh to Ripply’s Believe it or not museum, he begged mum if we could go because he thought it was going to be cool and he already has the book. We ended up going and saw some really cool stuff, things and people like the lizard man, the tallest man Robert Wadlow who weighed 440 pounds and was 8ft 11″ at just 22, Lighthouse man (he had a candle growing out of his head), vampire women, and the fattest man alive who looked like a girl. The scariest thing was the shrunken heads they were freaky.

Then we went to Turtle Beach resort to visit family and spend Sam’s birthday in a great way and he also choose a Sponge Bob cake.

PS: Sam loved his presents because most of theme were dragons and he loves the poler bear and every thing else. He had a great day. πŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸŽˆ

Day 75 – Gold Coast – Nobbys Beach (Friday)

We had to farewell Seaworld Resort this morning, we had the best time. Their hospitality was unbelievable, storing our camper van in the car park and storing bikes and surfboards inside the resort at absolutely no extra cost. Amazing service. We will be back! It was really nice being out of the camper for a few days but also happy to be back home tonight in our comfy beds.
We said goodbye to Ethan and Kim who are off the NZ to visit Kev and do some RV touring themselves. Stay safe guys!
Tonight we are staying at Nobbys Beach about 5km south of Surfers Paradise. The caravan park is very average, it is undergoing some major renovations so it will be great in about 3 months but at the moment it is a construction site!! (They don’t mention that in the brochure!!😠). It is surprisingly very quiet which is good but no pool or BBQ facilities as a big water park is being developed.
We are lucky enough though that nana, pa, Lisa and kids are staying at Turtle Island Resort only a walk down the road. It is kids heaven, countless pools, water slides, movie theatre. Like they are staying at their own theme park. Think we will be spending sometime there over the next couple of days.
Our caravan park is only a 5 minute walk to the beach and plenty of shops and restaurants around so can’t complain about the location.
Looking forward to relaxing tomorrow and celebrating my babies 4th birthday where do the years go!!!

Day 74 – Wet n Wild (Thursday)

Today we went to Wet n Wild. It was fun, little and big kids all had a great time. A couple of funny highlights was Sam flipping out of the Calypso tube trying to avoid the waterfall and pa slipping over once he had actually conquered the first big slide of the day, disappearing under the water.

The kids loved the Kamikaze, Tornado and constrictor. Dad loved the Aqua tube. A tube slide where you drop suddenly when the floor gives way. Some people were getting stuck in tube and they had to open it to get them out!!!! Freaky. You had to be over 45kg so kids couldn’t get on it.

Disappointed for Sammy that the kids area was all closed for reconstruction but he was happy doing the wave pool, calypso and eating ice cream. 🍦

We saw the Australian Wallabies at the park being filmed. So look out on the tv you may see Adam, Sam and Kim hovering in the background of a footy clip.

Have had great weather last couple of days very lucky this week with the sunshine. β˜€οΈ

Sorry no photos taken today, didn’t want to take any valuables to park so everyone could enjoy the day more without worry about baggage.

Here’s a photo of Sam being cheeky from a previous day.

Day 72 & 73 – Seaworld (Tues/Wed)

Last two days we have spent at Seaworld. Had heaps of fun on the rides. The kids favorite rides where Storm Coaster and Jet Rescue, Sam’s and Pa’s was the log ride. Sam also loved the Dora show.

Day one we got nana on the huge water slide it was very funny.

Today was a great day. We watched a special dolphin show early before Seaworld opened just for resort people. Holly then spent the morning with the Dolphins on the Dolphin Aqua adventure which she has been looking forward too for weeks. Her dolphin was called Cirrus and he was amazing. Max and Ethan did an awesome snorkeling adventure which was amazing value for money. They got to snorkel in the main tank with Leopard Shark, eagle rays, nemo’s, Dory’s and Cobia’s. They loved it. It was great watching them in the underwater observatory.
We couldn’t stop laughing in the late afternoon when we went to the waterpark at the rear of Seaworld. A pirate ride was hilarious where people off the ride squirt you with water guns and you can squirt them back. We were in tears laughing soaking people that we didn’t even know. I think we almost spent 2 hours there. Tonight we are off for a nice meal at Hogs Breath Cafe. Wow what a huge 2 days and another big one tomorrow!!!!!

Day 71 – Movie World (Monday)

Loving this resort!!

Today we went to Movie World. The kids had a great time. I think the big kids had an even better time πŸ˜‰πŸ˜€.

Great having nana and pa there, it is the first time in ages that I actually got to go on the rides, felt like a big kid again.

The kids went on the Batwing to start it was full on similar to the tower of terror. It was a lot harder than it looked.

The most insane ride was the Superman roller coaster. Ethan came on with the adults he is a dare devil. Me and Adam got the front seat. 😬Terrifying!!! It was soooo fast.

The kids favorite ride was definitely the Green Lantern a great roller
Coaster that went upside down. I think it was mine too. We got Nana and pa onto the Scooby Doo ride which was Brodie’s favorite.

Sam managed to get on a few rides, one a simulated ride where you have a gun and shoot things (😏 of course his favorite) we went on that one a couple of times.
Great day with great people. Lots of fun.

Day 70 – Gold Coast Nara Resort (Sunday)

Arrived today at Nara Seaworld Resort.

The customer service was great. Our camper is parked and they have stored our bikes and surfboards away safely all FREE of charge which is great, very impressed.

We were so excited to see all of Adam’s family after so many weeks. Kids went for a swim in the pool, this place has certainly been renovated since we were here last, 10 years ago.

Had a beautiful Father’s Day seafood dinner at the Shoreline Restaurant at the resort. The dessert buffet yumo!!!

It feels very luxurious having our own bathroom and toilet. Even got the hair dryer out for the first time in 70 days!!!

Can’t wait for our first theme park tomorrow bring it on !!!!

Happy father day dad, hope you had a great day, love you Pen Xxx

Day – 69 – Redcliffe πŸ‘πŸ‰πŸŽ (Saturday)

Today we went for a drive to Redcliffe. We had a walk along the foreshore and relaxed by the lagoon pool next to the beach. It was beautiful, too cold for some of us but Holly and Sam jumped in. Bbbrrrr
We then went for a drive along the esplanade and had no idea that there was a huge Kite Festival on. Supposedly held every year. Sam could not believe his eyes when he saw this humongous “Toothless” kite flying in the air (biggest fan EVER). We had a walk around the festival and Max brought himself a kite. It was so windy too windy to fly the kite as it was going nuts so we will get it out another day.
We had to be back to the camper for the big game!!!! Go Sydney!!!! Good way to end the day. Dad very happy πŸ˜€
Tomorrow is a big day off to the Gold Coast and catching up with the family everyone super excited !!!!!! Yippee.
