Day 37 – Cairns 5th August (Tuesday)

Woke up after very little sleep having Holly awake most of the night with what ended up being an ear infection from all the swimming. Somehow we managed to get to the Kuranda Skyrail in a mad rush by 10:15am. The skyrail was so high it was amazing, and the jungle beneath you was just as mind blowing as the views. It stopped twice on the way up and you could do a couple of boardwalk strolls. At Kuranda there were lots of nice little souvenir stores ice cream shops and the biggest hit with the kids the lolly shop. Yum. You could watch them make the candy the smell was so strong.
We went to a great reptile/spider house, although not a big place the kids all got to hold a snake and touch various lizards so well worth the money. A nice lunch at a cafe with mum and dad and a stroll through the markets.
We caught the rail back down the mountain. A little slower and longer than the journey up, Kids seemed to love the tunnels more than the waterfall views and sheer drops to the bottom. Early night tonight exhausted. Rainy day today but still warm. Weather very different to our previous month in N.T.
